I completely understand what you mean. My daughter is 5 and we went to get her some Barbie clothes for her birthday and there was not one outfit that was decent.

I really like this post. I think of that as well with my 1 year old. At times, I know I have the faith to say truly "Your will be done" but then sometimes I catch myself with a little pang in my heart for my little daughter. I believe that He puts that deep, fierce love for our children in us just so we can just get a glimpse of how great his love is for us.

You truly have a gift. This post in particular was moving to me. I pray that God blesses me with even a fraction of the wisdom you possess and that I recognize it to pass it on to my child(ren).

I do remember reading that different "microfiber" is very different, but I haven't experienced that personally. The only ones I've used are the ones linked to the picture in the post... BJs has some 10/$10 and I think I'll try those next time. At the time I just looked for what ones on Amazon seemed to be getting good reviews. I do think they're VERY different than rags. They're kind of like terry cloth in that they scrub pretty well, but they also literally pick up dust and small debris, whereas rags and even towels seem to just push it around. The one thing I don't like is that they're pretty difficult to rinse out because they are so "sticky." I think the best use for them is cleaning surfaces of grime (like sinks and countertops, and of course dusting), because they really do seem to do a much better job than rags. But if I have a big pile of crumbs, I've stopped using them 'cause it's much easier to throw a paper towel away than it is to clean out the microfiber cloth.

Julie, I have always figured microfiber was just a scam to get you to buy rags. I have looked at microfiber and wonder if everything advertised as microfiber is really microfiber? Are there varying qualities? Why should I buy rags when I have a box full of them? Looking for your input.

That sounds like a super fun plan! :) Honestly, we don't usually know when his trips are going to be very far in advance, or I would try harder to have made plans with you then! I think our BBs trip he was away, wasn't he? I think. I almost think we planned our trip before his was planned, though, haha.

>I just can’t conceive of being alone 24/7. Maybe my attitude is not right…
I think you're just more social than I am, AND usually my mom can come over after school at least every other day, and some weeks a lot more than that. I'm starting to get comfortable enough that I wouldn't flip out if they were both out of town at the same time, but it really has taken a long time for me to learn what routine works. And I'd still be exhausted at the end of the week! :-D

I feel like we should PLAN to spend more time together during the next business trip. You could get out of your house to mine, or I could keep an eye on the kiddos while you do one of those little chores that takes 10x longer with kids...or we could even cook together if Allen is working late one of those nights. I find that all too often I do not even realize that Seth is away until he has come home!

PS- I super admire you for this. Of Allen's two trips to Japan, I tried to be with other people (at my house or theirs) for all but a couple of nights per trip. I just can't conceive of being alone 24/7. Maybe my attitude is not right...

For the record, I did not take it offensively at all. It is a very sinful and selfish way to think, though I think very normal. :-)

Ah, I was being a bit sarcastic with my criticism there, which I can see didn't come across very well when I revised. I've definitely had thoughts like that, too! That exact one, I think, although I can hardly remember those pre-marriage days! (Horrible memory.)
